Function:

The database of Clusters of Orthologous Groups of proteins (COG) is phylogenetic classification of the proteins encoded in complete genomes. Each cluster contains proteins that are inferred to be orthologs (direct evolutionary counterparts) or paralogs (related by duplication). The current COG database contains both prokaryotic clusters (COGs) and eukaryotic clusters (KOGs). The COGs and KOGs are classified into 25 functional categories.


Input:

File format: tab delimited text file. If your data is not TAB delimited, you can use Excel to convert it.
Files can be in one of the following three forms:
①The first column is COG functional categories (codes), and the second column is gene number in this category.
②The first column is gene names, and the second column is COG/KOG IDs.
③The first column is gene names, and the second column is COG functional category (code) this gene belongs to.

Parameters:

①Title: user-defined title of the histogram.

②Type of database: choose COG or KOG

③Type of input file: There are three types of input files: code, ID, genecode. Note that the type must be consistent with your input file.

④Headers: Headers are optional.


Output:
A histogram in PNG and PDF formats.
